I was born in Belfast city and have been painting and drawing for as far back as I can remember. A great love of the immersive world of comics grabbed me at an early age. That ability to be transported through images and text. I began writing and drawing my own stories all through my teenage years. I learnt very quickly that a great comic artist must be a great draughtsman, able to draw everything, cars, faces, buildings, streets, etc. I set myself with conviction to this goal and it has served me well throughout my creative and working life. I have been a comic artist and editor, a sign writer, a graphic designer and illustrator, an international mural painter, a paint effects artist, a production manager for a sign company, an art technician at a private school and a set painter for theatre and television. In 2001 I moved to Exeter and undertook a Fine Art Degree. When it finished, I stayed, setting up art studios in Crediton where I have been making work ever since.

This portfolio is an archive of my creative, artistic life. It spans over a great many years. The ability to make artwork has been an incredible force in my life. It has been a constant companion, a mountaintop from which to see far and wide and many, many other things.
